50 Shades of Green golf tournament wins Event of the Year
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) recognized The Cliffs Event Team with two top honors during the NACE Experience! 2015 Conference and Expo held in Scottsdale, A.Z. NACE honored The Cliffs with the 2015 NACE Award for Best Team Event of the Year and the 2015 NACE Award for Best Social Event Production of the Year during the organization’s annual Awards Gala. Both awards recognized “50 Shades of Green”, The Cliffs at Glassy 2014 Ladies Member/Guest Golf Tournament.
Managing Partner of The Cliffs Clubs, David Sawyer, congratulated the events team members for their commitment to personal growth, spirit of competition and pride in their work and in The Cliffs.

The theme “50 Shades of Green” was incorporated throughout the entire three-day event. With golf being the primary event, the golf team incorporated various shades of green from the golf course to name each of the playing teams. These “50 Shades of Green” continued throughout every menu, designing décor, floral arrangements, linens, treats and activities. The “Greens from the Garden” luncheon was the perfect platform to showcase local farms, herbs and floral for centerpieces and present all the region has to offer through the farm to table movement. Snacks and on course comfort station daily were also well put together with thoughtful nods to the theme. Cold honey dew melon soup with artisan cheese and crackers served on the golf course received rave reviews.
During its Awards Gala on July 14, NACE recognized winners for excellence in exceeding the purpose, theme, goals, planning and execution of an event. The awards are split into industry and chapter awards with varying budget categories. The Awards Gala is held each year in conjunction with the Conference and Expo, which features networking opportunities, breakout sessions and award-winning national keynote speakers and immersion in Design Experience and Culinary Experience.
