The Hawkins Foundation held its annual golf tournament earlier this morning, and they could not have asked for more perfect weather! The Not A Traditional Golf Outing, Take VI, enjoyed sunny skies and a high of 75 degree for the first time in many years. No matter the weather, the tournament is always well-attended by golfers and spectators interested in supporting the Foundation and having a good time!

This year’s outing was held at Greenville Country Club’s award-winning Chanticleer Course and drew 150 golfers on Monday, October 12. Not A Tradition Golf Outing consists of three main parts: a shotgun start color-ball Texas Scramble, a post-round Fiesta and a winner-takes-all Cross Country Shootout. Greenville’s medical, business and community leaders joined together for a Monday of fun all for a great cause: to raise money for orthopaedic research. As Executive Director Gary Hyman noted in his thank-you remarks at the Fiesta, orthopaedic medicine and research may not be as well-known as other philanthropic causes, but it is so important to support these initiatives because they make a dramatic impact on the medical community as a whole.
The Flourish Team had a great day out on the links! The Not A Traditional Golf Outing has become an office favorite over the years, especially with the lively post-round Fiesta and ever-entertaining cross-country shootout finish. Congratulations to the Hawkins Foundation for another success year! We can’t wait until next October.
