AnMed Health Cancer Center hosted its annual Cancer Fighters & Survivors Day this past Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Anderson Civic Center in Anderson, S.C.
Cancer survivors and fighters were able to celebrate their cancer journeys and achievements by way of this big annual celebration. The event started with a health and wellness expo to showcase some of AnMed Health Cancer Care’s many integrated health services as well as integral community partners, including impressions appearance shoppe, the Cancer Association of Anderson and The Blood Connection. Strong participation in the expo was a success this year, and appreciated by the current and former cancer patients who are doing their best to live a healthy, full life.
A powerful part of the event included a moment of recognition and celebration for survivors and an intentional moment of silence for those still fighting cancer. Emceed by DJ Josh Amos of Elevated Party, the survivors and fighters were recognized in a moment of encouragement and support and finished the celebration with dancing and cake.
Guests who attended gave an overwhelming appreciation for the efforts AnMed Health continues to foster relationships with patients and former patients.
“It is always an honor to attend this event and spend time with our patients. Re-branding the name of this event to more intentionally include those who are currently fighting cancer helped us foster a connection between fighters and survivors to show that there are reasons to celebrate progress, milestones, hope, encouragement and inspiration.”
