The 2017 Rose Ball Beneficiaries received $300,000 on behalf of the Charity Ball Board of Greenville at The Beneficiaries Reception at The Greenville Country Club on October 19, 2017. These funds will go toward the beneficiaries’ individual organizational missions, while ultimately affecting positive change within the Greenville community on a mass scale.
“We are pleased to have raised this amazing amount of funds for this year’s beneficiaries,” Jennifer Haley, 2017 Rose Ball chairman and Charity Ball Board of Greenville member, said. “As members of the Greenville community we have a responsibility to nurture and support our community and this donation shows how committed our volunteers and donors are to the betterment of Greenville.”
Following the Ball’s 46-year tradition, fifty percent of the proceeds of the Rose Ball will benefit Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. Bon Secours St. Francis will direct these funds toward the development of its Downtown Chest Pain Center. The remaining 50 percent of the proceeds of the 2017 Rose Ball will be divided among the following local, non-profit organizations.
- Cancer Society of Greenville County
- Cancer Survivors Park
- Clement’s Kindness
- Camperdown Academy
- Communities in Schools
- Greenville Health System
- Greenville Literacy Association
- Harvest Hope Food Bank
- Meyer Center for Special Children
- Miracle Hill Ministries
- Project HOPE
- Ronald McDonald House
- South Carolina Children’s Theater
The 2017 Rose Ball beneficiaries were selected from 50 prequalified agencies in Greenville County. The Charity Ball Board of Greenville’s Beneficiaries Committee, led by chair Mrs. Don Wayne Cooley (Kimberly) and vice-chair Mrs. Francis Douglas Pinckney Evans (Pam), reviewed each application, conducted site visits and ultimately presented a slate for recommendation to the Charity Ball Board this spring.
