The 2015 Rose Ball, Greenville’s longest-running charitable community event, is entering its 44th year of supporting Greenville charitable organizations. This year’s “Origin of the Rose” themed ball will feature chinoiserie-style decorations and more than 4,000 homegrown roses donated from the private gardens of Greenville. Attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour, seated dinner, and dancing to live entertainment from Men of Distinction.
Members of the Rose Ball Beneficiaries Committee have selected 14 Greenville charitable organizations to receive 50 percent of the proceeds, while the remaining 50 percent will benefit Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. The first Rose Ball benefited the newly constructed St. Francis Hospital, and beginning in 1975, the Charity Ball Board decided St. Francis would always receive half of the proceeds from subsequent Rose Balls.
The 23rd Annual Rose Ball is chaired by Katherine Selvy, who is supported by other Rose Ball Committee members and hundreds of other volunteers. More than 25 local designers are contributing to the chinoiserie decoration theme for the ball, led by the ball’s Decorations Chair Wendy Wilson.
