Charity Ball Board of Greenville Announces 2017 Rose Ball Beneficiaries

The Charity Ball Board of Greenville has unanimously selected the beneficiaries for the 2017 Rose Ball. The 24th Rose Ball will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Poinsett Club. The theme for this year’s event is The Palette of the Rose. Following the Ball’s 46-year tradition, fifty percent of the proceeds of the Rose Ball will benefit Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. The Rose Ball recently hosted a special tea to thank and honor the Greenville women who grow and provide the homegrown roses used to decorate the Ball, which is held every other year, in September, at the Poinsett Club. Finishing the 2017 Assaults

Last Monday, May 15th, over 500 cyclists made the trek from Spartanburg, South Carolina to Mt. Mitchell, North Carolina. Cyclists climbed 11,000 feet over 103 miles for the 42nd Assaults on Mt. Mitchell and Marion presented by Greenville Health Systems. A huge congratulations is due to the cyclists who train and exhaust themselves conquering “The Beast of The East”. Special congratulations to Winston David who finished first with a time of 5:25:11. It was an amazing day filled with challenging climbs, beautiful views and fantastic weather. Great memories were made and we are already looking forward to the 2018 Assaults....

The 2017 Assaults

The Assaults is one of the most intense, premier cycling experiences that draws a full field of nearly 1,000 cyclists from across the world each year. This one-day challenge takes riders from Spartanburg, SC to the top of the highest peak in the east, Mt. Mitchell. Early Bird pricing is available for Assault on Mt.
